Krzysiak Named NECBL Pitcher of the Week for Second Time
Kent State Product Has 1.47 ERA in 18.1 Innings This Summer
NORTH ADAMS, Mass. – Keene SwampBats and Kent State rising junior Brody Krzysiak was named the NECBL Pitcher of the Week for the second time this summer when the league released their weekly awards on Monday.
The Bay City, Mich. native fired seven scoreless innings out of the bullpen on the week in a pair of victories, allowing just two hits. He struck out four in four one-hit frames against North Adams in a rescheduled contest last Monday (June 29), an eventual 10-1 Bats win, and then tossed three one-hit relief innings against Sanford on Independence Eve as Keene won 9-2.
Krzysiak lowered his season ERA to 1.47 and his WHIP to 0.55, having struck out 20 in 18.1 innings of work this summer while pitching to a 2-0 record and a pair of saves in five appearances (two starts).
As a team, the Bats have the fourth-best ERA in the NECBL entering Monday night's game in Sanford. Keene will travel to Vermont for a doubleheader on Tuesday before returning home Wednesday to take on Mystic.
